Maureen McNeil will read from her collection of fiction, Red Hook Stories in conjunction with her solo show at Kentler and CENTRAL BOOKING's exhibition On the Waterfront: A View from the Coast(line).  The reading will take place at 481 Van Brunt Street (Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition).

McNeil will talk about the sensory beauty of the neglected historic Red Hook neighborhood during the 1980s and the diverse community who mourned, protested and celebrated together.


A reception at Kentler International Drawing Space (353 Van Brunt St.) will follow the talk with two exhibitions on view: LIGHT + MATERIAL and Focus on the Flatfiles: VIEWS FROM RED HOOK . The exhibitions are on view from April 15 to May 28, 2023.
