About the exhibition

BWAC Small Works on Paper
at Kentler International Drawing Space

Invitational Small Works on Paper show with Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition
In conjunction with PIER SHOW 5
141 Beard St., Red Hook, Brooklyn

The show consists of 79 artists interpreting and reinventing their own language in the conversation of art through the medium of WORK ON PAPER. Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition is an organization that began in 1977 on the Brooklyn Waterfront by artists who wanted to reach out of their studio to their peers and community to develop a cultural dialog on a personal and professional level. The location of the Brooklyn Waterfront is the pivotal aspect of this organization. It is where events and exhibitions take place that bring together individuals from many different cultures, regions and ideologies. No definitive theory of art can be culled from this group except one that believes art is a vital language; one that can be both personal and universal. The Kentler International Drawing Space welcomes this opportunity to host an annual exhibition of works on paper by BWAC artists and to open more doors to the community at large for cultural exchange.
