Focus on the Flatfiles: HOME features 10 works from the Kentler Flatfiles curated by Sallie Mize in conjunction with robin holder's solo exhibition, Access & Inequities: I Hear You. Do You See Me? This selection reflects on the idea of home as a site constantly under construction. It conjures not only a physical place, but feelings of family, community and belonging that are at once sought and created. A person going home may simply return to the familiar, or they may enter an entirely new state of mind.

The Kentler Flatfiles have been an essential element of Kentler International Drawing Space since its founding in 1990. A collection of over 2,000 artworks by 270 local, national and international artists, this living archive represents the incredible breadth and diversity found in contemporary drawings and works on paper today. Selections from the Flatfiles are regularly presented in guest-curated exhibitions at Kentler and in traveling shows. "Focus on the Flatfiles" is a rotating selection of works on view in our front gallery space.
